Default 1998 fuel sender

I install a new fuel pump .The pump works but not my fuel gauge.It stays on e when I drive,then when I shut the car off it moves to 1/4 tank

lol. Mine sits on full when the car is on, all the time. Bad unit.

most of the time it's the sender itself. sometimes you can find a short in the wiring from the tank. In my instance I had a bad PCM. Everything worked great but my fuel gauge read zero, swapped the PCM and it works great now lol. But yeah, try replacing the sender, sorry you've gotta drop your tank again!

Do you know which wires are for the fuel sender on the pcm so I can check them.

not off the top of my head man. I would look them up for ya but I won't be home for a couple more weeks. I can't even remember which ones they are at the connector. When I get home I'll look it all up for ya.

I put an ohm meter on the black and the purple wires it it read zero.
