Default hopfully just a little problem

ok so i was driving to work the other day and i looked down cuz my check gauges light was on and i was like wtf. i was at 260. i thought **** must have broke a hose so i go to turn off and investagate only to have it rapidly go back to 210. its been doing it more often the last couple of days. it seems that the temp changes too rapidly. i was thinking my thermastate(sp?) might be sticking or its my water pump. any ideas? thanks

i would check coolant first. kinda sounds like some air in the system also could be a thermostat i suppose.

do you notice any water leaks if not prolly not a water pump.

Wow, 101K on the original motor! I'm assuming you still have the original Dex-cool in the radiator? Def. go with a flush and fill. This will also help to eliminate any air in the cooling system. G/L!

mine did the same thing. except my waterpump went out and was leaking massive amounts of coolant. so if thats not the problem, then like already said, i would flush the system and put some new dex-cool in there.
