Default 2 quick questions guys...

How do you check rear end/clutch fluids and others... the stuff that can go bypassed.

the car has 60k miles, just want to know at what mileage i should have it checked... and can i trust a stealership or go to like pep boys or something.

Rear diff has a fill plug on the pass. side. Open it up with a 3/8th's extension on your rachet. Stick your pinky into the plug; if you feel fluid on the tip of your pinky when inserted up to the first knuckle, you're good to go.

Clutch fluid reservoir is inside the engine bay, next to the brake reservoir. It's a "single-cylinder" reservoir. Unscrew the cap, ensure that the fluid is level with the indicator line on the outside of the reservoir. It'll probably be black and very dirty, if never having been changed in 60k miles. Wipe down the rubber diaphragm attached to the cap; it's probably got water on it. Brake fluid is the same way; but it shouldn't be near as dirty/dark as the clutch fluid.
Transmission fluid has two plugs, one drain, one fill. Pass. side (I believe), again, pinky method on the top plug. Changing the tranny fluid is easy; place 5qt. basin under drain plug, remove, stand back.

I've owned both a 2000 SS M6 and a 2001 WS6 A4; PM or email me for more details.

At 60K you are better of changing it unless you know for sure the last time it was changed.
