Crankshaft Position Sensors cause this when they start to fail......and they can take a long time to actually fail OR throw a SES light or code.

Your saying that CPS' cause the relays to fail? Or that another reason why the car can fail to start is due to a failing CPS? I'm trying to understand your comment.

They are ~ $4.13 a piece (before shipping) on rockauto.com, even less if you use one of the MANY 5% off coupons online.

No, the CPS causes the weird starting issues. Nothing to do with the relays.

OK, well that definitely wasn't my problem, but it's good to have it in this thread if someone tries the relays and that doesn't fix it. I've now started 3 times without issue (2 in the morning which was always the worst for starting and yesterday after work). I think I'm about ready to call it a call it a success, but want to give it one more day just to be sure.

OK, guess I can splurge on 2 of them. Though I'd rather just go locally, does anyone know if a Pepboys/Autozone would carry something like this?

But the question is, can they TOTALLY fail, to the point of stopping the engine dead, while you are running down the highway, without throwing the PO335/336 codes???? (Like I am told by some can happen.)
