Default Tachometer stops at 6500.. normal?

After my H/C setup obviously we changed my rev limiter to 7k well I would like to shift at 6800, however my tach stops at 6500. (engine keeps revving to 7, we had hp tuners up to verify.) I will probably just rig up a shift light, I was just curious. Also can i rig my skip shift light to come on at 6800. I want to just cover up the skip part so it just says shift.
