Default any write ups to fix slack in cable?

How do I know for sure if I've got slack? When I was under the hood cleaning today I applied slight pressure on the cable and it felt loose. I was able to bend it easily. I'm a newb, not much car experience really. Do you guys think I may have some slack based on my description? I tried to do a search but it ain't working. If I do got slack how do I fix this? Is there a write up somewhere perhaps? Thanks fellas

I know when I did the bump stop mod on my throttle body, there was a plastic clip that allowed you to adjust the throttle cable. I did this over 5 years ago so I can't really give you details. But I know it was easy to figure out just by looking at.
