Default Need help completely cooked #6 plug wire

While I was changing struts and rotors today i noticed my #6 plug wire is baked to a white powdery dust from the boot to the coil. Any thoughts as to the cause? I tried a search a couple different ways not sure how to phrase it. I've seen them melt before this doesn't look like it was even touching the headers. So much for my MSD wires. WS 6 store here I come.
