Installed everything in my garage. If your lazy and have some money to spare you can have a exhaust shop put it on.

In short, any job's a driveway job if you want to spend twice as much time on it and risk it not lining up properly. A lot of people that do catbacks in their driveway never get it to line up properly and have to take it to an exhaust shop to straighten the tips up. With y-pipes, most people have to take it to an exhaust shop and get ground clearance or banging issues straightened out.

If you take it to an exhaust shop, you won't pay more than an hour's worth of labor to install it. If you do it in the driveway, you'll spend easily twice as long, probably not get it to line up properly and take it to an exhaust shop to get tweaked anyway. If you're really lucky, you'll get it to line up perfectly and save $65 at the expense of an hour or two extra of your time.

Keep it all in perspective. On my old Firebird, I took it to an exhaust shop to put a catback on because it took half an hour and cost me $30. It would have taken me forever in a driveway.

See how much a shop will cost for a catback install. If they only charge $30 or $40, you're much better off going to the shop because it'll line up perfectly the first time and save you hours of your time.

I bought this car with the Corsa on it, and I have a feeling the idiot that installed it did it in his driveway. The tips were sagging and not lined up at all. One of the tailpipes was in the muffler by 1/2". The I-pipe was a quarter inch from the driveshaft causing a horrible rubbing sound in reverse and idling, making me think I had a Corsa with a loose baffle. It was a nightmarish install whoever did it. When I put the headers in, I took it to a shop and it was reinstalled the right way - on a lift where you can see what you're doing. The tailpipes were readjusted, clearance was adjusted, etc. Now I have no rubbing, no banging, the tips line up perfectly, they aren't sagging and the tailpipes are actually in the muffler now.

I see you're from S. Jersey. I don't know where you got an exhaust installed for $30 but consider yourself lucky. Two Meinecke shops quoted me in excess of $300 - one closer to $400 - when I was supplying them the parts.

I got a practically new factory pipe cheap to replace the custom made, partially rotted one that was on the car when I bought it. The car is mostly stock - for the small restriction that the flattened pipe *may* cause - it was worth it.

I ultimately did it myself - Ypipe and all. It was a snap with no issues. It all lined up perfect.

well my 01 ws6 convert sounds like a ***** cat, Id like to change that
I like the magnaflow but I hate the factory Y pipe. like to find complete system for convertible that is from the CAT flange to tailpipe, little lounder than stock but not too loud as to attract cops

For christ sake don't listen to choco that guy is a douche. I don't think he's put anything on that car himself or without someone holding his hand, I'm pretty sure that you can't give someone advice to install something that you have never done yourself (just like how you gayed up my QTP install thread). It is a driveway mod and is not hard to do at all. Most shops will weld the **** together making it impossible to ever take it apart without destroying parts of it, also to them time is money so you think they'll take the time to do it right or get it in ASAP so they can take the next dollar for the day? Also I had one done at a shop and just wanted the pipes for the tips welded and the bastards put them on lopsided and guess what? It's pretty much fubar now unless I wanted them to blowtorch it and bend it or cut it and have it spaced wrong. I have a corsa that I put in and it was done on a set of ramps. Take your time and you will be fine and use some good clamps. Any piece of exhaust is a driveway mod period.
