Default Proper Jacking Spots?

Were getting ready to install my headers on my Hawk and I need to know how to properly jack up the front of the car. The back you jack up on the rear-end I believe but I have no idea where to jack up the front. Also, where is the best place to put the jack stands during a header install? Thanks

Drive the back up on some Rhino ramps, and jack it up on the frame behind the front wheels (*note* NOT where the fender bolt to the body.) Then once its high enough, place the jack under the k-member and jack it up from there. You will most likely need to "build up" the highth for the stands to have enough clearance to slide the headers in.

When jacking the rear, you can't use the rear axle tube because of the sway bar. If you use the rear chunk be careful you don't damage the torque arm.
If your jack has enough clearance, I would lift under the engine cradle. My jack won't fit under there so I'm stuck raising one side at a time just behind the front wheels on the front sub-frame. If you have the SLP subframe connectors on your hawk you should be able to lift there.

As for the jack stands, you want to make sure you've got the car as high as possible and that they won't interfere with the headers as you put them in. I would suggest near the ends of the front sub-frame just behind the front wheels. Be very careful not to place them too close to the ends or it's possible for the car to fall.

If you drive it up on Rhino ramps first, you should have plenty of room to get the jack under the car and jack up on the k-member.

Thanks, that link explains everything I need to know. I searched install university but I never saw that heh. That was where I was going to jack up the car and put the jack stands but I wanted to be absolutely sure. I love my car too much to watch it fall off poorly placed jack stands.

Rhino ramps are pretty much a must have for this stuff...they really help.
