Did you get the new one from Autozone?

If you got a warranty with it, take it back for another. I had one go out in my firebird, and the new one they put in it was DOA. There is always that chance.

Just my $.02 though, hope this helped

That 1 wire on the alternator is for the regulator and goes to connector c2, pin 15 on your pcm. Also check that you have good continuity between the battery and the alternator wire. Could possibly be that your alternator case is not well grounded too. A lot of people neglect grounds, but they're just as important as power connections.

I got two from Autozone and both were dead. I had the stock one rebuilt and it's good as new.

Just like Sgt Drags said take it back and get another one
