Default Strange Parking light problems (not correct sockets?)

Hey everyone.

I have a 99 TA (got it last year) and have been having issues with the Parking/Turn signal lamps. It has been really confusing. I've had them stop working for no reason, I've changed bulbs which helps and recently I realized that my drivers side light was acting brighter (normal I would say) then the passenger side.

The bulbs that were in there were 1157's so I bought some of those. Reading here and the sylvania site, it seems that 3157/3457's are what I want. I have some of those, 3457ALL sylvania types and of course I can't get them to fit. I'm thinking all of this is because the sockets were changed at one point possibly. I can say that the passenger side doesn't quite fit the 1157's properly but.. it kind of works.

I've attached two pics, first is drivers side, second is passengers side.

Obviously different, I would rather have the ones that it is supposed to have though. I know the drivers side is not proper which is why it fits 1157's. The passenger side though, is that stock or not? I can't figure out how to fit a sylvania 3457all (but I won't force it till I know... less I got the wrong sylvania) What sockets am I looking for? I am hoping to get this done with soon so I no longer have to worry about dim/bright problems and lights not working or turn signals not working! Thanks all for reading.

Those are definitely not the right sockets. Autozone has the right ones. There's a recent thread in this same forum that lists the part numbers for them.

FBDYLVR, Thank you for the reply dude. I found the ones in that other thread that Autozone has. Going to order them soon, just wasn't sure which were which! No clue who had the genius idea on putting two different sockets like that in. Shame.

Here is another quick question about these lights. I can't remember quite how they are to be (I got the proper sockets in). Because of whoever screwed around with it before I'm pretty much playing a wiring game.

Anyway, I'm getting there but when are the lights supposed to be bright and dull? When it is in DRL mode, should they be bright? When you turn it to parking lights, should they remain bright? If the headlights are on, they should go dim? I can't remember and now I got them both doing different things! Not a big problem though, just matching wires (Correctly)
