AC Help QUICK! After 4 months im still trying to fix my freon leaking out the back of my compressor. but i can not seem to fix it. a local mechanic told me that i had to have 2 different thicknesss of washers/gaskets behind the compressor, where the lines tie into. and bolt in.
is this true? or is it just the same washer on both sides.

Not sure because i have never worked on the a/c on our cars before. I Can tell you though that usually at the compressor there is just an O-ring on the High/Low side Lines that go on with a coupled fitting. Might want to go to napa or Gmparts and get the number for them. Now the other question is, do you have an a/c machine to recover and vacuum after you fix your leak?
If not you definatly want to go to a certified shop to get that done.

Some other GM models use different thickness washers and their kits come with a confusing set of color coded seals of varying thicknesses.
AutoZone and Advanced Auto both STOCK seal kits made in the USA by Factory Air, they cost $8. FYI the GM brand is made in mexico if that matters to you.
Unbolt the compressor from the engine, pressurize the ac system, move the comp around so you can see the back and apply a gas leak detector (soap bubbles)
