Default Belt/Alternator squeaks only at high rpm's ???

I need a little help or guidance…

I have 97 LT1 with around 22,000 miles on the clock. When I accelerate from a stop, I hear a high pitched squeak coming from the serpentine belt at around 5,000 rpms. At least I think it’s the serpentine belt. The squeak only lasts for a sec or two, but it is very loud. And once I let off the gas, it stops. I know for a fact that I am not hitting the rev limiter.

What could cause the belt to screech/squeak? Again, this only happens when I accelerate to a higher rpm from a stop. If it is not the belt, what might cause this noise? Possibly the alternator? I have no clue, but because it is so loud I want to make sure that nothing is going to snap or break.

The belt does not have any cracks in it and it is not worn.

Any feedback would be great.
