Help With Steering Column Movement

Today I turned into a parking lot kind of sharp and when I putt pressure on the steering wheel in the turn, I noticed the column moved about 1/4 an inch down and to the left. I know its normal for adjustment to move down and up buts slippn to the left and im not even touching the lever to adjust the column......any ideas before it comes of in my hand at 80 mph...?.....thanks in advance

Is it the whole column that's moving? Check the mount under the dash. sounds like it's loose. If it's just the tilt part, gonna have to tear it down and replace the worn parts.

If you mean you can push down on the tilt yes they do that. I don't know of a fix yet. What parts would you replace????

I think its just the tilt wearing....only thing throwing me off is that it goes to the left a little too.....

Mine does go to the left slightly. I have an exploded diagram but I can't figure out what to replace.
