Door skin is seperating.....what glue?
I posted this in Body but it's probably more of a General question...
The leading edge of the door skin, from the trim up, has seperated. I can pull it apart enough to run a new bead of adhesive on it, but what should I use?
Can I use something from like a Walmart, or do I need something special from a body shop?

You could head down to your local body shop supply store and pick up some panel bond part #8115 for about $34, and use that but you will also need the automix gun to use it and the part # to that is 8571p for about 60-70 bucks. The 8115 will work in bonding smc.

Take a look at Hysol 9309 or Hysol 9313, its a really good bonding adheasive for virtually all materials. I use it for all kinds of repairs, it works great when repairing skin debonds and internal honeycomb damage on helicopter rotor blades.
The only real difference between the two is the 9313 isn't quite as viscous so it flows better. If you want it to stay right where you place it use the thicker 9309.

I had the same problem with my 2000 trans am. The previous owner had tried to glue it, but whatever he used did'nt work. It came apart again. but this time all the hardened glue would not allow the panel to go back into place. I had a body shop fix it. They had to remove the door, pull it apart and grind the old glue out. Cost me 300 bucks/
