Rear hatch shock number Sorry, I have done searches like crazy, but was wondering if anyone could just let me know of the GM part numbers. Or, when I go to AutoZone, what do I ask for? Thanks.
Ask for the rear hatch strut. It doesn't matter if you're the guy who invented the damn thing and know what it's called those idiots aren't going to know what the hell you're talking about. May need to walk them out to the car and point your finger to it.

Just say the thingies that raise up/down in trunk-like thing in back of car.
No they don't. I know this because I own a 2001 Z28 and the hatch pops right open. I also own a 2002 SS and the hatch feels a little heavy I guess due to the heavier spoiler on the SS. The struts have the same numbers between the two cars. You might be able to find one thats the same size and retrofit it, thats just a guess.
