starting issue

starting issue This may sound wierd but I just got a new waldpro pump put in and car started up great and had perfect fuel pressure and everything for about 2 months. Ever since i took it for a 4 hour trip to wisconsin it has trouble starting. sometimes it starts right up, and a lot of the time i just hear a click and it doesn't start until i hold the gas pedal down to the floor as i start it and it starts. a guy told me when u put the pedal all the way down it closes the injectors off and it should start. so i do that most of the time. but was wondering what it could be. my gas cap is normal but the little metal thing that opens when you put gas in the car is like plastic and doesn't seem like it seals off the tank at all. could this be an issue with air getting into the tank? anyone know what could be going on?

I'd check the pressure again to make sure it is still working properly. Also since you have to mod the bucket the FP is in you normally don't want to run the car low on gas as the pump can overheat. May want to look at the filter too.
