small E-brake annoyance

I just noticed today that when I pull my e-brake the light in the dash does not come on. I park on a hill frequentaly and the e-brake light has always come on.

I know that the light bulb is not burnt out because when the car turns on all the dash lights flash on as accordingly.

I dont know where to start really I might take apart the center console sometime but I wouldnt know what to look for.

I know its not a big problem but its just a small annoyance. Has anyone else here came across the same problem?

There is a switch in the center console right next to the parking brake lever that activates the light on the dash. If the light comes on during startup, that's where I'd start.

+1... start with the switch next to the parking brake lever!
