I have a 2002 transam collectors edition and need it to last for as long as I live!!! I love the car to death and only want the best for her. She has 45K miles on her and I want to do make it like new AGAIN. I want to know from experts what the best of the best fluids and parts are for my baby, so I can see it hit the 1,000,000 mile mark, atleast. So far, car is fairly stock and in mint condition.
what is the best for my 2002 transam ce ls1
trans fiter?
trans fluid?
Motor oil?
I have been using Mobil 1 super synthetic, 10,000 miles extended performance 10w30, change it ever 3,500 miles
Anti-freeze ( coolant)?
Someone told me the orange factory fill is BAD for gaskets?
Fuel filter?
Spark plugs?
Wires?
Thanks for reading!!!
Search around the site and you'll find the answers for the questions you are asking
Amsoil trans fluid
Amsoil in the rear
Amsoil EaO oil filter
Amsoil air filter
Amsoil coolant
Wix trans filter and gasket
AcDelco or purolator fuel filter
NGK irridium spark plugs if the car will remain stock

All the very best quality products money can buy. You will never see a million miles out of these engines and transmissions and rear ends. You are looking at most likely 3 complete rebuilds on all 3 major components across a 1 million mile span even if you use the very best oil and filters money can buy.

So true. . . No way in how hell a 4l60e will go over a 300k mark.
Best off the shelf oil you can buy.
If you really want the car to last and continue to be a collectors item, I'd suggest you be most worried about the finishes, interior, and plastics. Make sure you keep the car stored in a garage at all times. Search this site and do the fix to relieve the stress on your door panels so they don't get the dreaded cracks. Etc.

I've herd the synthetic fluid is too slick for the bands in the A4's.
Other than that the oil change intervals sounds like you've got that pretty much under control.
But, the key here is NOT to wreck it. That was the down fall of my bbblack 98(M6) TransAm w/ T-Tops. The insurance(StateFram) insisted on totalin 'The Keeper' due to the(state reguations on) 'unknown structual damage'.
Good luck!

I meant to make a reference to climate, not geography. When things get below freezing, an oil is required with an increaced viscocity. (5W30 or better) The owners manual has a good chart illustrating the temperatures and viscocities at play for normal driving.
The key is to do maintenance regularly and not wait for a problem to develop. Imagine that it's an airplane and that if it starts running badly you could die! And if you treat it that way you will be fine.
