re-aligning a door...

re-aligning a door...

so i asked my brother to move my car from the street into the drive way and when he gets out of the car he forgot to put the ******* parking brake on... the door hits a post and gets pulled way the **** back....

anyways i got the door to align so it doesnt hit (i dont know what its called) the black that it latches on to by loosening the bolts on the hinges up top. but its like half an inch shifted forward so it still gets stuck

so i figured id have to loosen both hinges and slide the door back but thats when i noticed this

could the hinge be bent?
i noticed when i open the door all the way and push it open with like with my finger the gap opens up, i let go and then it goes back to looking like that.

so if it is bent do i have to replace it?

or would it just be fine to loosen the hinges and pull teh door back?

Either your hinge is tweaked or the frame it bolts to is bulged.

I would suggest a GM dealer body shop. they can tell you for sure, and order hinge(s) if needed.

Looks like frame damage to me. It isn't a big deal but pulling doors isn't fun...

I think he's right.

That's what it looks like. I think it bent the frame in as the hinge was being pulled on.

I think a pro body shop will be your best bet. Since pounding on it yourself most likely will just damage it further
