Default Door Panel Help

That damn panel piece that holds the window control and goes over the door handle. It keeps popping out when I slam the door beacause the hole where the screw goes in is wallered out because it is fiber glass. The screw wont hold it just slides in and out! What should I do???

Here is how I fixed it....

I filled in the hole with 2-part LocTite plastic epoxy and spread some over the area around the hole too to tie it together. Then the next day (after it hardened), I drilled a pilot hole the size of the screw shaft so that when the screw is driven in, it wont crack the epoxy and its threads will tap the hole.

Its been holding fine for over a year.

I had that same problem and I took the screw and wrapped teflon tape around the diameter of the screw. The teflon will build up the ridges and it has held up quite nicely ever since. You will need to wrap several layers, but the tape will conform perfectly to the crest and vallies of the screw and will make it tight unless the hole is really ripped out to a vastly larger diameter. Its a quick 3 minute fix.

I have the same problem. Where can you get the screw online?

You can get a similar screw from Home Depot and Lowes. I don't remember if they have it in black, but that can be fixed with some paint.
