Gear Whine Please Help
Gear Whine Please Help today i began to hear some whine in my car.but only around 2k in 1st 2nd and maybe some in third (exhaust makes it hard to hear) ..so i just went and had the fluid changed..still hearing it...could it be the trans? its a standard.
and yes i know that 12 bolts and 9" are better..just cant afford one at the moment THANKS FOR ALL HELP

who swapped the fluid? what was the condition? that was the most important step in diag. if it has metal shavings youre gonna need to rebuild the 10 bolt.
you say its at 2k. is that with light throttle? sounds like worn gears. probably from a worn pinion bearing.
i'd say its time for some 4.10s. those and a complete rebuild kit. oh man im jealous, i love rebuilding rear ends. its been awhile for me. hmm maybe i need some 4.10s too
