Car is overheating...please help.

Just pull your thermostat out and run it. See what it does then.

Thats what a bad temp sensor can do.

But look man.....after you top off the coolant, how long can you drive around until the level goes down a couple inches?

Also, do you see the coolant start to flow after its been idling for awhile with the radiator cap off?

Well I changed out the thermostat and that fixed it. Thanks guys for the help. Glad it wasn't a head gasket

So all this time you never saw the coolant start to flow when you stood there and waited while it was idling........................

Just kidding, glad you fixed it.

And remember, when your coolant starts to actually boil over, thats when you have a blown head gasket.

I know I seen the same thing...promise I seen the coolant start to flow, and I topped it off. I don't know dude but it seems fixed now. Thanks for all you guys help.

Its cool man, just don't ever ask for help again. JUST KIDDIN!!!!



And maybe the t-stat was stuck OPEN. If thats the case your engine will slowly overheat, you need a t-stat that can close, its just as important as it opening.
