i am having smoking issues with my car and read that the breather off the trans can cause the oil filler breather to smoke, mine is doin that and is not burning oil or coolant thru the exhuast, i am in the process of doing a compression check and saw this T connector hanging off the top of the trans, it is a turbo'd 2000 trans am with the a 4L60-E in it... any suggestions?

ive never owned an automatic fbody so i couldnt tell ya exactly what it goes to but it looks like some kind of valve or filter that should have another line attached to it.

That is the transmission vent.

When you say oil filler, do you mean engine oil or transmission fluid?

when i took my tranny of that was never connected to anything and my tranny has never been pulled so i took it off and no issues
