Default Hp loss from 3" orp to a 2.5" orp ?

I have slp lt's, 3" orp into a 3"x3"x3.5" flowmaster collector, 3.5" catback. I am going to change headers for a little more ground clearance. Also the 3" orp is every bit as low as the slp's, so i would like a 2.5" orp for more clearance. Do you think this will cost me hp?

I am not looking to gain any hp, i just do not really want to lose any.

Stock CI with a mild heads/cam package, I don't think it'll hurt you that much. With a really hot heads/cam setup (say, 430 RWHP or better) I think you'de be holding yourself back a good bit. And with larger cubic inch engines you'de be choking it.

Either you need the ground clearance or you don't, but the larger Y-pipe is going to be at least somewhat better.

I agree with Colonel, much more than mild heads/cam and there are gains to be made with the larger 3 inch exhaust over the 2.5

Thanks. I guess the 1st thing would be to try and work with the 3" y-pipe. If that doesnt cut it i will try a 2.5" and see. I only have a little 224 cam, so maybe it will be ok.
