Default the perfect LS6 intake rib shave!

i remember somebody had once done it to match with the 98-00 coolant lines but i cant seem to find that pic anymore. does anybody have it?? im looking for the pic that somebody had dremaled the thing perfect all the way across and not shaving off any excess ribs. thanks for helping

Its cool, half the time I can never find what I am looking for. Good luck, you can always just chisel them off also. That is what I did, I also did not have a dremel tough.

No it won't crack the plastic with a chisel Ara. A dremel/die grinder is faster.

and smellier...the dust sucks, a real sharp chisel will make a lot less mess

You do this to clear the ls1 coolant lines. You can buy the ls6 lines. Just get a hammer and a chisel for the ribs. I was able to hit them pretty hard without causing any problems. I ended up just clearing all the ribs off the bottom.

I used a die grinder with a cutoff wheel. I also used a red marker to mark the ribs that needed to get cut.

i used a die grinder with a 2" 50 grit sanding wheel. did the whole bottom looks alot smoother and cleaner

You can also use a 1 1/2" air buffer......just do one rib at a time and you can make it look like it came from the factory like that, Also another thing i did was take the clips and all the black shielding off the tubes, then very carefully hammered them to almost a oval shape...you might want to take them off for that though.

I used a razor to cut into the plastic first on both sides of the rib, then used a chisel to knock the ribs off, that produced a cleaner break of the plastic. Finished off with some sanding of any sharp areas.

i will get up pics, it came out perfect! i marked them with a marker then i used a old pushrod to hit the fines off, then i cleaned it off better with a screw driver
