Question need your guys help desperatly!

ok so im having a big problem with my car its a 98 ls1 a4 with stall and shift kit. i just bought this car its got long tubes exhaust ls6 intake gears bee hive springs 600 something lift cam etc. the problem is that it runs like its carburated. it sputters really bad every time i try to get on it i don't understand at all. idk if its cuz i don't have a tune or needs new plugs etc? its like a 20 sec car Proly lol. any help would be so appreciated! its driving me crazy!

Did you buy it in this condition; or did it happen after you bought it? It's hard to diagnose without more detailed information about the setup.

first try all the plugs and make sure its firing right. It could be misfiring. Try to do a timing light to make sure its good. Also it might not be tuned. But do the plugs wires and possibly the coil packs first.

Clean the MAF. Search on here if you don't know how to do it.

Go to AA, AZ etc.. and get them to pull codes and pending codes if their reader will do it. A dealers Tech II will do it but they rape you for 5 minutes work.

Then check fuel pressure. Should maintain 58#'s +. You may want to change your fuel filter too. Under the trunk/hatch in front of tank.

Dirty plugs/bad wires can give your symptoms but will usually(not always) throw a misfire code.

There is also a MAF fuse (labeled engine fuse IIRC but honestly don't remember) in the underhood fuse box that is an easy check and will also make it run like crap. This one had me scratching my head for a few days but luckily a simple fix. 20amp I believe.
