Default Header Install Help

Today i started the process of installing my headers on my 99 z28...and at the point of just removing the air tubes, egr, and coil packs. I was just wondering how people removed the last bolt on the coil pack on the passenger side. I can't even see it and there is minimal space to get a ratchet back there. I was wondering what other people did to remove that last bolt.

use a 10mm i think is the size gearwrench and it should be fairly easy. some people dont install that last bolt when they reinstall the coil packs so they dont have to fool with it anymore lol.

Yea use a ratcheting wrench, not a ratchet. Makes it a lot easier. I agree about not putting it back in. You might want to take the coil packs off again to retighten the header bolts or for whatever reason.

I removed the back bolt on the passenger side coil bracket. And when I put it back on, I made sure to install it straight into the ******* woods.

Taking the coil pack bracket off which removes all the coils is a huge help, frees up a decent amount of space to get a wrench on the rear header bolt...

X2

Just left them on

I don't know if the 99 set up is different from my 01, but I loosened all the manifold bolts from up top except the back one on the passenger side, then took the Cat off and had a wide open path to it It was tight to get that one started once the headers were in but if I can get my fat *** arm and xlarge hands in there I would think most everyone else can get it

i might have to just take it from underneath or leave it because there are too many tubes in the way.

an endwrench or ratcheting wrech and time is all i can say...i had a friend with long skinny arms too and he helped a lot lol DO NOT reinstall it! you probably need two of those bolts to hold that bracket on so leaving one off will hurt nothing. i can take my coil brackets off in like 10 mins now and it makes getting to the back header bolts so much easier i dont know how some of you left them on there...

I left the coil packs on, got to the last header bolt from under the car.
If you insist on taking the packs off, then the 10mm gearwrench is like a gift from heaven
