Places and methods to check for Vaccum leaks ?

Places and methods to check for Vaccum leaks ? Do you need to use brake cleaner ? Or can it be CRC MAF cleaner, I have some left. Still stumped with some performance issues, and don't really understand exactly how, or where to check for the vaccum leaks.
One of the motor mounts is worn, if that gives a clue to location, thinking something could get pulled loose or cracked. Engine moves pretty good when I crack throttle underneath hood.
Anyone have a list or diagrams to replace all the vaccum hoses, hose is cheap and I have time to work on it everyday, I just don't know exactly how.
Is the best way to just purchase a length of hose, correct diameter, and go to town with a diagram and replace it all ? I have heard of cracks in intakes, then I'd be pretty well screwed, no $$$ for that.

Get you a propane torch and turn the gas on and stick it around anywhere you think might be leaking and the engine will rev up if the gas gets sucked into the leak.
A length of rubber hose slid over the end of the torch tip will help getting into tight spots.

You can use the propane or Carb Cleaner..
If using the Carb Cleaner, Spray a small amount the supected areas. In smal burst or dripping.
1) around any vacuum connection, hose or fitting.
2) around the area where the intake manifold mates with the head, check the manifold bolts.
3) check around the Injectors, could be bad o-rings both the upper and lower areas.
When you hear (or see) the RPM raise, you know you have a lean in the area you just sprayed around. The carb cleaner will both seal the leak and also change the mixer for a second or two, which will cause a raise in RPM of the engine.

Thanks for the info. I will do a thorough check, I'd prefer the spray cleaner method, with a nice long skinny hose. Any particular brand that is known to NOT honk up plastic things, like wire insulation, and intakes ?
Any sponsors reading this, that build motors,.... interested in putting together a kit ? (stock 2001 ls1 motor, catch can, !AIR mods) Something along the lines of, heres all your hoses, and some basic directions (which goes where). Figure builders might have alot of that lying around or be second nature to the pros ? Looking for.... well, exactly what you would put on a customers car, if they dropped it off with request to replace all the vaccum lines.
Shoot me a PM if you are interested. Car is just over 90k, if I find one leak, I am going to want to replace them all. Just got RevXtreme catch can in the mail, so that small portion of the hosing is covered.
Much better mood today, looks like it was the MAF failing, the new one is working wonders. So far.
