I've been having a problem keeping my ltft's in check due to the fact I have true duals. It should be easier to keep them in check now that I'm going back to normal exhaust right?

Because of how short they are and the distance of the 02's from the end of the pipe.

that doesnt hold water at all

if you want to go back to stock style exhaust thats fine but it wont help your fuel trims

you do know your fuel trims will never stay the same right?

Long tubes are what gets your fuel trims messed up, not what's downstream from them. The location of the O2 sensors results in readings that are interpreted as lean conditions and the fuel trims are kicked up.

You just said that you know they never stay the same, then went on to say you are having a hard time getting them to stay there.

Just get them as close as possible. Once you get them within 5% I would leave well enough alone. I try to get mine between 0 & -5 and then leave it alone.

You may go back a week later and fine tune it a little more but the fact is the only downside to them changing is throwing the wot fuel off, but if the trims are close then when it does change its not going to throw it off enough to amount to much.

I tuned mine to run open loop. No more fuel trim probs or erratic idle/surging due to slow switching.

Basically you disable the fuel trims and tune your VE and maf (if your running one) tables to get your fueling in line. Without the fuel trims these tables need to be tuned very close and if so, your AFR will be right where it should be when the weather is about the same as it was when you tuned it. The downside is your 02's are then no longer keeping our AFR in line (via fuel trims) so it may run lean or rich depending on the weather. I'm using an EFI Live custom OS to address this, not sure if HP has something similar or not. With it you can adjust fueling depending on IAT temp. Seems to be working pretty good so far. I'm actually running speed density also.
