Unfortunately there isn't much room under an F-body even at stock ride hight for a ball and socket. With the clamps we use there is very little chance of a leak unless the pipes are'nt seated far enough into each other first. If I can help choosing A system just ask or call the shop

Definally stainless ! .. ive seen pictures of coated headers after 2 or so years of harsh weather environments, and its not pretty. I bought a header that would last for the duration of the car . Mine are only 1-2 months old but still look new too

The ceramic coating helps hold some of the heat in the primaries giving better exhaust gas velocity. Doubt it would ever change the outcome of a race though.

if you expect them to look polished forever your nuts, 99 percent of the time they are going to become golden or bronze, but they still look good like that

Why don't you read this little blog courtesy of Chuck @ HPE... I believe it'll change your mind about header coatings.

Never thought about that. Very good point. So what alternatives do we have to keep underhood temps down?

To be honest with you I wouldn't worry about it. Underhood temps are well within normal tolerances with my uncoated, stainless headers. I don't see it affecting performance whatsoever.

Stainless headers are supposed to discolor. It's impossible for them to look the same as they day you put them on unless they have one hell of a coating on them or you never drive the car. Mine have probably 4,000 miles on them and they're slightly purple to golden where the primaries meet the heads, golden for the center section of the primaries and still exactly like out of the box down by the collectors, no discoloring at all.

Mine turned golden immediately and then over time some bluing occurred. Now they have a slightly speckled appearance as well. Not rust, but they are unsightly.

My buddy's Pacesetters look better but he doesn't DD his car. This is looking at them from the top. Looking at them from the bottom is a different story. His have some rust and mine just look dirty.
