Default HEADER INSTALL

What gasket is everyone using when installing long tubes? Also is it worth changing the 02 sensors while putting them on? Are the Bosch ones ok?

I have SLP lt headers and they came with gaskets, and I don't know what brand, so I can't help you there. As for the O2 sensors, I wouldn't change them. From what I've heard, the stock sensors are Bosch and you'd be wasting your money if you replace them before they fail.

Hope that helps,

Jim

I have found that the stock LS1 GM manifold gaskets work the best and are the most durable for use with headers.

As for the O2 sensors...... the sensors have recommended replacement intervals of 100,000 miles. Now, this is assuming everything is running properly and has not damaged a sensor. Additionally, this does not mean that the sensor is especially junk at 100,000 miles either.

All four of the sensors are the same except for the length of the wires. You can swap them around and see if the codes change. You may need some extension harnesses to do this. You can buy the extension harnesses from PPC.

I thought you were still having problems with exhaust leaks (at the flange where you had the cats off possibly?)? If it is leaking before the o2 sensors, you may be seeing a lean condition that doesn't exsist. I may be wrong....that was just what I thought I remembered.

Anyway....

Ahhh...I was thinking that you had a leak between the manifolds and the cats. Ok...so much for that idea....
