Before deciding, you may also want to take into consideration how much you drive your car in the rain...

Both are good designs.

A block off plate can be made in about 5 mins

Sticking a piece of roll bar padding in the SSRA and flipping over the seal on the airbox takes a good 30 seconds..

I have driven mine quite a few times in the rain and never had any water in there with the SSRA. I had an FTRA on for a while but switched to the SSRA for a few reasons: weight, ease of swapping cams with the SSRA and there is a bit more open area in front of the radiator.

There was no performance difference as far as I could tell between them, my car had the FTRA on it when I bought it so I cant say if either do anything other then lower the IAT quicker
