None of us knife edge the blades. WAY too easy to have an oops and remove diameter off the blade and cause a leak.

I didnt knife edge either but did thin it mainly to true it up moreso than airflow. The stock blade is stamped and is far from flat so I machined it to strengthen since the front half of the shaft is cut out and dont support it anymore.

www.thepowderpro.com

Talk to Sean. I'm running a few of his powdercoated pieces, and sooner than later will be running even more. Love the look and the price can't be beat.

Those are the calipers I'm running and I also have a ported/powdercoated throttle body (http://www.thepowderpro.com/gallery/...=picture&id=58) and MAF ends. Everything is consistent, holding up well, and look as good as the day I installed them.

We do the CNC portedones, but have not powdercoated any to date. You could send one of the CNC'd to them for his powder coating though.

Anyone that has rev extreme drop ship me a CNC unit for my powder magic will recieve a 10% discount on the work. Normal price is $70 for exterior shave, powder, polished spring, and polished IAC motor(if there is one on the unit you send me). So $63 instead
How's that sound TLewis? There is an entire gallery of nice pretty TB's on my site if you liked that red one

And thank you Caleb(summerwolf), i appreciate the kind words on my work.

and Bo is dead nuts on about these damn GM blades. I know the half shaft mod is popular but I might stop doing it. It causes the blade to bind up in the bore and give that real common sticking problem with ported TB's. If you hold the cam gear in your left hand as you tighten down the lefthand blade screw you can clearly feel the whole thing tweak itself on the last 2 turns. I have to wetsand the bore on a lot of the ones I do and it still sticks sometimes. You can leave that left side screw a bit loose and solve the problem also but that is not something I am willing to chance with a customers part.

Most TBs Ive seen that have the half shaft mod done reused the stock screws and just used the holes in the blade to center the blade up. Problem with that is sometimes is the holes arent centered in the blade enough to do that. Thats why all of the ones Ive done uses #6 washers so that it widened the clamping force and kept the tappered part of the stock screw from pushing the blade off center(on the blades that werent stamped off center), even then it was a problem so I just started replacing the screws all together. I also use some Scotchbrite on the edges of the blade to knock the burrs down that also tried to grab and stick in the bore. All of those things together kept sticky blades down to probably 3-4 out of all of the ones Ive ever done.
