I've had my GMMG's for about a yr now. One of my boys has a SLP lm on his lt1, and his is raspyyyyy as a motherrrrrrr. I love my gmmg's.. the most beautiful purr on idle, but on WOT, it's ridiculous. I don't like the sounds of them with ORY pipes though. AS F8L stated, TOO raspy. But gmmg + catted Y = MUSIC

I've never heard a GMMG, but after hearing a few LM1's I'd get the GMMG in a second over the SLP.

gmmg is the sex, but if u dont mind losing a little bit of power, try flowmaster, its cheap and sounds awsome, here's a clip of mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m51U66-X4c

GMMG by far. I had it on my old car and it sounded incredible. I personally think LM sounds like garbage.

I have lm1. sounds good (even coming from mustang and import owners). there isn't any rasp after break in (like a day or 2 of driving). also, there is a little backfiring in the exhaust if you go past 2k rpms when the engine is cold but its probably better for the engine not to anyways, or a tune would fix that. It sounds very good IF you have oem cats and manifolds... and cam. basically, if you want it loud, but don't plan on any biggish mods, its good.

if you plan on doing anything, i'd get a dual kit. at least the cheap texas speed one. gmmg sounds good from vids but is very expensive. im pretty sure a bassani dual kit is the same or cheaper and imo that sounds better.

Ditto on that.

...and for what its worth, as for rasp/loudness there is no 'break-in'. What is actually happening is deafness setting in.

^ no there was a high pitched rasp to it. i only drove it for a couple weeks then went to college for a couple months. came back, still didn't here it, and my dad who didn't ride in it says from outside sounds different too. could be the ecu adjusting fuel amount with new, better flow? idk. all i know it isn't raspy at all, unless i stomp the gas when reving it but as far as driving goes its not. all i have is that and a lid.

2. newbie of 1 month states there is rasp.
3. a few weeks of driving with rasp...the "deafness is setting in"
4. ok, away for a while.
5. newbie is back in town, and no rasp...deafness.

...just as i explained.

1. poster "really" meant to say 'yes'.

^ people who have never heard it before don't think it has rasp, you don't know what you are talking about. many people respect this catback on an else wise stock exhaust. the car from the beginning also had a taping noise at idle that could mostly only be haerd in cabin. the exhaust probably wasn't installed right and caused the high pitch and maybe its settled more or moved what it hit idk but the car is just deep.

and just because im new to this forum doesn't mean im new to cars or ls1 forums, which im not. anyone who uses "newbie:" is a cocky jerk off, especially someone not playing a video game.

This has been debated many of times already. On stock manifold the lm is better but once cats are off and lt's are on it get ugly. GMMG i'm not a big fan of but i'll take it ove the lm1.
