MAf sensor quit working. any quick fix tips?!?
As states my MAF quit working a few days ago, any quick fix tips I can try tonight?
FYI, I found out it isn't working through my HP Tuners software, coupled with the car running crummy.
Thanks!

I dont know that its truly shot though, only that the ECM does not see a signal.
Umm...how would you feel about explianing the differences between using MAF vs Speed density, or link me somewhere good
What does that do differently if its already not working. Doesnt the car go into closed-loop mode without signals from the MAF either way?
Thanks for the help guys!

no when u unplug it, it doesent read the bullshit false codes that the broken MAF is saying it will run in a different mode unplugged so u are better off having it unplugged

I see...much appreciated.
Also, I'm curious about going speed density with the cam I'm about to install. its 230/240 113 & would like to keep a decent idle, and smooth part throttle driving.
While thats a total cliche with a cam that big saying that I want it to be "like stock," I'd be willing to give up some* HP in exchange for stock-like driveability within reason if it meant not going SD.
How common is it that people go SP > MAF when getting a tune with bolt ons/cam?

When the Maf is unplugged it goes into a Speed Density setting although a very rough SD setting.
Speed density Calibrates the amount of fuel to add based on information recieved from the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, Intake Air Temp (IAT) sensor, Engine Coolant Temp sensor (ECT) and few other sensors instead of using the Mass Air Flow (MAF). Speed Density is suited well for alot of high horse power setups. ie... Forced induction setups that would max out the MAF or with very large duration camshafts. From talking to a few tuners they seem to usually agree that SD tuning is easier on our cars as well.
I'm currently running SD tune. My mods are in my sig.
