ls6 intakes

hey I just recently bought an ls6 intake of an 01 vette. After i sent money to the guy i noticed that there was one difference between my ls1 and this ls6 intake by the pictures. On the ls6 intake it didnt have the spacer piece molded into it for the throttle body cable bracket. will it work on my 00 SS without problems.

Are the ports that meet the heads slightly larger on the LS6 intake manifold? If so wouldnt it be a good idea to port match them while polishing and smoothing the heads while apart installing a cam and springs.
