Header Install Problem
I went to install my headers today and everything was a breeze until i got to actually putting my headers on....I got all the bolts but two on the passenger side and i think they are cross threaded or whatever because i can't get a bolt in there far enough... so i got tap m8 x 1.25 and got it trying to thread but it snapped but i got it out of the block so not much a problem...should i just try the tap again? has anybody had this problem? any other solutions?

I've installed my share of headers on 4th Gen F-Bodies. Two things I've found to be VERY helpful with the install:
1. get a thread-chasing (cleaning) tap, and "recondition" all exhaust manifold bolt holes
2. this is just my opinion, and opinions are like elbows.....most folks have at least two...anyway, I have found ARP header STUDS far easier to use, and far less likely to damage threaded holes, than either aftermarket, or reused OEM bolts
But that's just me.......

I got the pacesetters and tried reusing the stock but then tried the ones that came with the headers...i think i got them threaded pretty good now i used a tap and i can hand thread much better than before i think still might have to further i didn't try to go to far in because i didnt want the tap breaking in there.

any tips on getting the original manifold bolts out? im installing pacesetter headers and have everything but the factory manifolds off. anyone have trouble with shearing off header bolts? i just dont want to have to drill out or re-tap anything lol...more work than i want to do.
