Default Headers...which do you think are the best?

Hi everyone, I'm looking to go to a set of long-tube headers for my 2000 Trans Am and was wondering if anyone had some legit advice on what brand they prefer. I've thought about SLP's set or a set of Hookers. What do you all think?

Pacesetters, everyone who sees them thinks they look like Hookers. They install easily, dyno great and fit like a glove.

Coated for 320.00, try to beat that.

I purchased the race style (no EGR/AIR) coated headers from Redline Performance and got my headers and O2 extensions sent to me in about five business days...or was it four? The headers look really great and the coating came out looking pretty good as well. For the price, you can't beat them!

Actually, it is. Pacesetters are not Hookers. Look closely.

TTS. Look into them. The quality is something no other header can come close to. But that is my .02. I love em. As close to an OEM header you will get.

I checked Summit's web site, couldn't find them. I must be over looking something. I paid double that for the coated Hooker LT's on my 86'.

they only have hookers in their catalog...pacesetters are a special order but both are numbered 2253 if im not mistaken by both companies...and with all the peeps saying they look identical id just assume its a rebadge job which is nice cuz the hookers are 409 through summit and the pacesetters are 303.95 er something.

Ok which is it? In your title you ask "Which do you think are best?" And in your post you ask "looking for some legit advice on what brand they prefer..." In other words, 1)Do you want best bang for your buck...where you may or may not have to get creative with what you bought or 2) Do you want a complete kit that has been tested with proven performance gains and would require you get a retired organ grinding monkey to install it? To each his own...some take pride in making things work in order to save a buck or two; and on the other hand some people would rather not have to spank the monkey to get things to work right the first time. I don't want to say "You get what you pay for...because it seems that there are a lot of LS1 aftermarket parts vendors that simply just charge too much. Do your research, ask people who actually have the equipment-as for me, I don't like to spank my monkey a whole lot-but I do like to hammer my 98.

If you want the best I would say get Kooks. I have a set and love them. Depending on your setup the pacesetters can't be beat for the money though.

Personally I think Grottyohann headers are the best...not because I have them but because I truely love the fit and design.

The funny thing is,most of these headers are made at the same shop.
I run FLP's and love them, fit and finish is excellent, but when I bought them there was only FLP and SLP out there.
Nowadays there is a good selection.I would go with the Pacesetters for price and have a custom Y-pipe made.
