Default tunning after ls6 intake install?

i have a friend that installed a ls6 intake and it dropped his 1/8th mile time from 8.6 to 8.4, he hasnt done any tunning since the install, is this normal? i was always under the impression that after an intake upgrade you almost had to have it tunned. Am i losy here or what?

It's hit or miss...

One person can NOT give you an answer on whether or not YOU will need tuning after installing a new intake.

I needed tuning after I did mine.

well it really depends on how the car is running.. every car responds somehow a bit different from others when it comes to mods...best way to find out is to check the a/f mixture...

i have not tuned my car since i put mine on..the car runs fine.. but i am following the theory that headers make you a bit rich and the intake leans you a bit.. so i am alright for now..till heads and cam go in
