$1,300 Worst Bolt On EVER...
She checks the oil see it that the "dipstick" says add and drives the car to her local stop & rob. They "discover" the oil pan has a hole in it. Thanks to the impact with the curb.
She calls me up wanting to know if $1300 is reasonable to drop the engine and replace the oil pan. $850 for labor $350 for oil pan, plus oil tax etc.
I'm like no it's very high. I call her local Chevy dealer who quotes $1000 for it. Another GM dealer quotes $700 for the whole job. Local mechanic quotes $200 for labor just supply the oil pan ($230 new shipped to mechanic) so $500 for the whole deal.
She of course ignores all of this and gets stop and rob to do the repair for $1300...worst bolt on ever.

She only got interested in that 02 LS1 Z28 because she couldn't drive the T/A with it being an M6...in the 14 1/2 years we were together the T/A is the only car we had that she didn't wreck or total...and that was only because she couldn't drive it. Her Z28 has been wrecked (by her) with in $500 of being totaled two times...It's not everyday someone runs over a curb, knocks a hole their oil pan, keeps driving the car, asks for advice on the cost of the repair, decides not to listen, and goes with the highest quote.
