Exhaust Just got a 2000 WS6 TA about a month ago. I'm new to the LS1, and need some advice on exhaust for the car. Right now its bone stock with 18,000 miles. I have an '85 with the ZZ4 running a Flowmaster set with Hedman shorties. How is the Flowmaster for the LS1. Want a comfortable ride but want the sound at power too?? Help
Re: Exhaust forget the flowmaster, ive got it on my car (previous owner put it on), it sounds nice, but there was no performance gain. as far as exhaust setups go, the sky's the limit. yo can get long-tube headers, a catted/off-road y pipe, a cutout, or a nice catback, or you can do what im doing and do a custom true-dual exhaust 
Re: Exhaust flowmaster is by far the worst exaust for the LS1.
3-400 dollars will get you a hooker cat-back, or a few other cat back systems, which will give you an excellent sound, and a great performance gain. Plus they usually look a whole lot better then those tiny exaust tips they gave us from the factory.

Re: Exhaust I just got a Magnaflow cat back, and all I have to say is wow! For $300.11, even though I haven't modded it too much, it was the best investment to my car that I've made.

Let's just say my neighbors are alot happier now that I got rid of the loudmouth and got the magnaflow. (Tips look badass too)

I just got a Magnaflow cat back, and all I have to say is wow! For $300.11, even though I haven't modded it too much, it was the best investment to my car that I've made.
i got the same deal , with the LT's and custom Y its a nice system

Like everyone else I'm looking for a nice deep id;e but at WOT I want to hear it. Something a little tinny also. I have an '85 with the ZZ4 with Flowmasters and its awesome with the exception of resonating a little in the lower RPM's. I dont want a full system yet. Daily Driver. Just the cat-back for now. It has plenty of power for now, especially for the wife(loves to go fast). Thanks for all the responses!! Sounds like people are real happy with the Magnaflows.
