Default What makes a good merge?

Hey all Im going to get a set of true duals made soon (Catted 3in H pipe into flowmaster single chambers dumped at the axel) and in order to get the most out of the new setup I need to know what are the qualities of a good merge collector?
I was thinking of getting this from summit....

Looks like a nice H but honestly I dont know what to look for.

I used this Click here w/ 1-chamber flows and am very happy with it! HOWEVER, I built my own dual exhaust so I could get it to tuck properly. Believe it or not, that merge made the sound so much better than the standard run-of-the-mill x-pipe I had on there before (with the same mufflers).
For the price and ease of installation, the one you posted should work just fine.

Yeah, I wasn't all that happy with the x-pipe sound. That merge that I posted smoothed out the sound, and made it cleaner and a lot deeper. However like I said, its not cheap or easy to fit, but well worth it. A regular h-pipe should work just fine and will sound great. You'll love it!! Good luck!

Would a shorter balance tube be best?
