vic jr. vs LS6 intake
ive been looking at a buncs of threads here and it seems like the consesnus id that a stock TB ls6 intake is alittle low on potential compared to FAST and spiders... my combo is a 226/232 .609/.604 111+2LS ans TEA LS6 stage 2 heads.. the car is a 79 malibu so i dont have cowl or height issues like a 4-gen..
i have seen people gain big running vic. jr's and 4500 style TB's over elbows.. and TPIS has a dyno comparo where the vic is up over the LS6 in lower Tq and over the FAST 90 in higher RPM Hp...
other than having to run a SD tune... is installing vic-jr a good idea+??? or should i go for the tunnel ram style edelbrock intake.... or si there simoly no gains over an LS6 intake????

I just put one on mine this past weekend. You have to realize that this is pretty much a drag racers intake. This intake will outshine a fast 90 or 92 up top but lose a bit of torque down low during daily driving.
My shift points are at 7100 rpms so it fits perfect for me and i may have to move it up a tad after swaping to this intake. I personally don't care about the "lose of tq down low" because when i flash the converter off the line im never under 5700rpms going down the track. My cam will work very well with the Victor jr intake but i don't advise people to run it unless you have the cubic inch to handle and a tuner willing to spend alot of time tuning on it.
