Where to put the sending unit for water temp

Where to put the sending unit for water temp

Just wondering if you guys know a good place to put the sending unit for a water temperature gauge. I know you can put it on the back of the head but I could not find a sleeve for the sending unit that matched the thread pattern and size of the head bolt. As of now it is drilled into the water pump but that only reads the water going into the thermostat.

The hole is 12mm X 1.5, I ordered my adapter from autometer.

Will the autometer adapter work with cyberdyne sending unit? I know its a universal sending unit but some say only an autometer sending unit will work with the adapter from autometer.

When you get that AutoMeter adapter, you also need the short sensor. They call it a cylinder head temp sensor.
The one that comes with the gauge is too long, and does not fit.

It has a short 1/8" npt thread on the sender with nothing beyond the thread.
Not sure what your sender looks like but if it doesn't look like this it won't work with that adapter.
