Default TD Drone

I have custome 2.5" TDs with dynomax bullets.

I have just shitty drone from 1.3k-2k which is obviously cruising rpm. Then i have drone at 3k rpms.

I did some searching and some people suggested XR1s or MagnaFlow Powerpacks. Anyone have any luck getting rid of drone?

You could try facing the turndowns towards each other that may help.

Run them out the back, that was the best thing I ever did. I love the sound of my car since I ran them out the back.

Bullets on my car were bad up to about 2k. Put some Magnaflow 3" ovals on it and it went away.

As said, try playing with the direction you have the turndowns facing, it can change the drone a good bit, but your muffler is ultimately what contributes to it. With 4.10 gears and single chamber flowmasters, the drone is almost non existant. I can't comment on other mufflers because I've never tried them.

I like tie dumped look, if i ever ran them out the back i would do a molded CME. I dont have the money for that now...

i see. so a muffler replacement is what i need. I have an X pipe dynomax bullets and turndowns. All my exhaust is welded up so i cant adjust ****.

So magnaflows made your drone go away? Which ones?

What is your combo everyone?

so maybe turning them away from each other is what keeps the sounds waves from interacting with each other so bad?

Converting the X-merge to an H-merge will probably relieve a good bit of drone. Personally, I'd throw some Magnaflow bullet-style metallic core cats on there.

I am running 3in TD's (Lanes) through a custom 3in CME with the "ProFlow 18in Twisters". It is louder @ lower rpm's, and it screams @ WOT, but no drone!

There are a few videos up here:

I'm not sure if any of them are decent enough to gauge the sound.

Running the exhaust out the back IS NOT the only way to get rid of drone. I would replace the bullets with a chambered muffler. Also I have my turn downs facing away from each other and I have no drone at all. I have the magnaflow xl mufflers. I just posted a vid. Check it out. On the highway its like having a stock exhaust!

Summit part # is MPE-13219 Honestly just from MY experiance with any bullet style muffler drone is going to be terrible. Check out the mufflers I have. They are 3 chamber and cruising around town I can hear my radio and also hear myself think Once I added the turndowns it was night and day quieter inside.
