Default More air = less reliability??

Say I go from a stock unported ls6 intake and throttle body to a fast 90/90 or 92/92 setup. Does the increase in power give me slightly less reliability? I mean i know that a fast setup isnt going to break my engine lol but doesnt every hp gained add just that tiny tiny bit more of stress to your engine? Im not to good with mechanics and will have to bring my car to the shop with so repairs and labour costs are pretty expesnsive.

Pacesetter Longtubes
TSP True duals with dynomax mufflers
Custom Patrick G Cam
PRC 5.3 L 220cc 2.5 heads 10:75:1 compression

Car is a 2002 ws6 making about 460rwhp to wheels through 10 inch about 440rwhp through 9 inch.

Your train of thought is definitely going in the right direction...the more power you make, the more stress you put on everything.

But in the grand scheme of things, how much does it matter? Wouldn't we all like to know...but when you are at the point you're at, I don't think I'd worry too much about it. After all...if you wanted reliability, you should have left it stock. Nothing lasts forever, so enjoy it while you have it, and if you break it, just rebuild it and make it even better the next time.

More air won't hurt reliability but your right foot will after you have discovered the new found power.

You should have asked this before you did Exhaust, heads and cam. Like stated above, at this point what does is it matter.

haha true, but i didnt do any of the mods, i havent actually got the car yet, i just bought it , my first car ever, been dreaming of a 98-02 ws6 for8 or 9 years now, always swore i would never buy my first car until i could get a 98-02 ws6 and now at 24 years old I finally have!! ))

I guess I should start a new thread with regards to reliablity differences from a stock car and a H/C car huh??
