Installing air box lid/IAT sensor question

Default Installing air box lid/IAT sensor question

So this happened a few months ago when I was installing my lid: I had a really rough time getting the IAT out of my old lid. Like super tough. It ended up breaking the small cage around the IAT component. I successfully installed it in the new SLP lid without trouble since it was already somewhat broken. Well, luckily it's still there. I'm about to remove my AIR though so I'm going to be switching lids, probably going with a clear one. Are there any tips for getting this IAT out/in? Also, if need be, where can I order a new one? Everywhere I've looked it has only been the connectors, not the component in the lid itself.

Yes, that is an 85mm lid, I'm running that same lid on my ride.

Best bet, buy a new IAT valve from the dealership or online.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Wish it came in clear. I want a straight through 85mm set-up because I'm going with a Typhoon 85mm intake and throttle body. So I ask myself, "Why not get an 85mm lid and 85mm MAF as well?"

Um yeah, my bad...the clear one is not 85mm. I thought FTP only made the 85mm lid, and didnt realzie a clear lid of available.

Get a new IAT sensor. When I did my slp lid I read how its almost impossible to get it out of the stock lid without breaking it so I just got a new sensor and gromet ahead of time. Much easier. I think it was about $20 at any dealership.

Thanks for the info. I thought about calling out and getting one. Anyways, do you think putting a stopper in my current lid where the air pump goes in would be restrictive?
