ok well my SES lite goes of at random intervals it seemed till today..i washed my car and dried and detailed it some for tomorrow, so after about 3 hours after i washed it i took it down the road....and the SES lite went out actually i was surprised...so then i drove it around town for about 15 minutes or so it came on... but again as it did last time it came on as i was at idle or starting off in 1st.. any ideas on what teh SES lite is coming from or if water has something to do with this? i don't spray my engine down either...

 

If it's flashing, it's from miss fires. If not, you need to plug in a scan tool to find out.

 

Did this start after you installed headers?

 

well i did everything kinda like at the same time..so i have no idea, i know it needs tuning, but i'm wondering about the ported MAF ends..that and also as soon as the cold weather came around it used to be very very random, but now its a guaranteed thing..and i don't have any kind of scanner to see what the code is exactly

 

go to autozone they will do a free diagnosis and tell you the codes

 

If the light goes on and off I bet its from your cam setting off the misfire code, My cam does the same thing.
