Default Things I should replace since my motor is out

Engine in question is my 5.3 LM7

Motor is being swapped into my Camaro, the motor has 137,000 miles on it.

I've been told there's a lot of things that I should replace... oil pump, rings, seals, gaskets, bearings, some have suggested new pistons...

LS1s are pretty tough and this is pretty much an LS1 (just iron I guess) It's pretty dirty, still in the process of cleaning it up.

I figure people on here would know best. This car is going to be driven fairly hard, but not driven daily.

When my engine comes out, even though everything is fine right now, I'm changing my heater hoses, heater core, wiring harness for the entire engine compartment and engine will be brand new, anything plastic or with plastic fittings like the brake booster, all radiator hoses, new power steering pump, new throttle cable, brake lines from front to back and some of the sensors. Among other things external from the actual engine.

All of this stuff is still factory, and they're going on 11 years old. NO need to drop a new engine in and then have problem after problem with all the little ****.

*sigh* here we go again...

I can't get an LS1 in my area, THEY WANT AT LEAST 5 GRAND for just the motor.

Read my post again, I said LM7. It's an iron block 327 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vortec#LM7 Change the front accessories, oil pan and intake manifold and you have an LS1 "equivalent"

I needed to get all new hoses anyway, I was referring to things on my motor I should replace.

Replace the knock sensors and the crankshaft position sensor. Both of those went out on my 1999 Ls1 Z28.
